This is a self paced reflective course, bilingual-friendly, identity-based, rooted in professionalism.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
By the end of this 1-hour course, participants will be able to:
Identify key personal values and lived experiences that shape their emerging interpreter identity.
Describe foundational professional behaviors that establish presence and trust.
Reflect on the relationship between identity, ethics, and professional practice.
Articulate who they are becoming as interpreters and what mark they intend to leave in the field.

Course language and accessibility:
The course is intentionally designed as a multilingual learning experience. The instructional videos are recorded in Spanish with ASL interpretation. Course instructions, pre- and post-assessment prompts, and knowledge-check questions are provided in English. The downloadable course workbook is fully bilingual (English/Spanish).

This multilingual design allows trilingual interpreters (ASL–English–Spanish) to engage with professional development content in Spanish while maintaining access to assessment and instructional guidance in English. The course supports reflective learning across languages and encourages intentional professional growth in multilingual interpreting contexts.
Outcome: Learners articulate who they are becoming as interpreters and understand how intention shapes their presence in the field.

This course provides a Certificate of Completion.
At this time, CEUs are not directly issued through this course. Participants who wish to apply this training toward CEUs may do so by submitting the course through an approved sponsor and completing the PINRA process, in accordance with sponsor requirements.
